You can even get a good night’s sleep in one of these places, usually for a lot cheaper than a hotel.  But be careful, of course, and don’t do anything stupid.  There is sometimes an entry fee (between 30 and 50 RMB), and then a fee per massage.  A sauna is definitely the most expensive option for getting a massage in Beijing.

so you tell me — this woman who took my blood pressure and smoothed my hair and my sheets, who smelled like roses and had pink and white flowers woven into her ponytail - was she an angel or a massage’s aide?and in the end, is there any difference?none at all when you’re as sick as I was for as long as I had been sick. None whatsoever.

Now this part is corny, and I know it, but I hope somewhere a caregiver will read this and understand. All that backstory was just so you’d understand that I was 4+ sick; I told the ER doctor I had about a week to live and he agreed with me. somehow I never gave up hope.
